-compiti. We went over the answers from last week's homework. From Parlate con Noi, handout 23. Also we practiced days, weeks and months, and conjugated some regular verbs.

a - to or in a city: Vado a Portland. Siamo a Roma. I'm going to Portland. We're in Rome.
in - to or in a country: Vado in Italia. Siamo in Germania. I'm going to Italy. We are in Germany.

- Days and months.
Quando andate in Italia? Andiamo in Italia in ottobre.
Dove va? Vado in Sicilia. Vado a Palermo.
Quando vai a Roma? Vado a Roma martedì.

-Two way translation exercise. Useful phrases. We did this exercise: "Scusi, c'è un bagno qui?"

5. Preposizioni. Read about the prepositions on the front of yellow handout 27. Try to do the translations on the back. Here are some important hints for a few of the sentences:
"on foot" is a piedi
uscire (to go out, to exit) is irregular: esco, esci, esce, usciamo, uscite, escono
venire (to come) is irregular: vengo, vieni, viene, veniamo, venite, vengono
questo is "this". quello is "that"
