-Gli argomenti (the topics): What we did in class, and more.

-Warmup: Tony ci ha raccontato i progetti per il viaggio.

- In albergo. We performed our hotel dialogs. Che bravi studenti che siete!

-Futuro. Italians use the future to make plans, to make predictions, to hypothesize, to make promises, and for the "periodo ipotetico" (If... then...)
We used the yellow futuro handout # 17. We made up some sentences in the future tense.

- Conversazione. We used vocabulary from unit 8 of the audio CD, "Vorrei..." and "Vorrebbe..?". Do you remember what the conditional conjugation of volere is?
vorrei
vorresti
vorrebbe
vorremmo
vorreste
vorrebbero

Conditional. The conditional tense means "I would do..." The stems of the conditional tense are the same stems as the futuro stems. Since everybody has already memorized vorrei, vorrebbe... you have already been exposed to the conditional endings. Here they are again:
-ei
-esti
-ebbe
-emmo
-este
-ebbero

- Imperativo. Noi, voi, tu... (imperativo familiare)
Noi form:  “let’s ...”
(same as the present tense indicative)
Let’s eat. Mangiamo!
Let’s drink. Beviamo!
Let’s wait here. Aspettiamo qui!
Let’s leave the suitcases here. Lasciamo le valigie qui!
Let’s not talk. Non parliamo!
Let’s not study. Non studiamo!
Let’s take a walk. Facciamo una passeggiata!

Voi form: “you...”
(same as the present tense)
Stay here! Rimanete qui! Restate qui!
Look! Guardate!
Excuse me... Scusate...
Listen! (sentire) Sentite!

in voi, only four verbs have an irregular imperative:
essere, avere, sapere, volere:
Siate! Abbiate! Sappiate! Vogliate!

Tu form: “you...”
-ere verbs: (same as present tense indicative)
Answer! Rispondi!
Turn on the light! (accendere) Accendi la luce!
Take the ticket! Prendi il biglietto!
Be quiet! (tacere) Taci!
Close the door! Chiudi la porta!
Close your beak! (shut up!) Chiudi il becco!

-ire verbs: (same as present tense indicative)
Come here! Vieni qui!
Finish the homework! Finisci i compiti!
Open the door! Apri la porta!

-are verbs: end in “-a”
Work! Lavora!
Wait! Aspetta!
Come in! Entra!
Eat! Mangia!
Leave the book! Lascia il libro! (Leave it! Lascialo!)
Excuse me... Scusa...

To make a command negative in the tu form, use “Non...” and the infinito.
Don’t smoke! – Non fumare!
Don’t wait! Non aspettare!
Don’t go! Non andare!
Don’t cry! Non piangere!
Don’t laugh! Non ridere!
Don’t go out! Non uscire!

There are some irregular verbs in the tu form of the imperative:
avere, essere, andare, dare, fare, stare, dire:
Abbi! Sii! Vai! or Va’! Dai! or Da’! Fai! or Fa’! Stai! or Sta’! Di’!
Have patience! Abbi pazienza!
Be ready at two! Sii pronta alle due!
Go to the corner! Vai all'angolo! Va all'angolo!
Give Giorgio the book! Dai il libro a Giorgio! Da' il libro al Giorgio!
Make breakfast! Fai la prima colazione! Fa' la prima colazione!
Stay alert! Stai attento! Sta' attento!
Tell the truth! Di' la verità!

- Imperative with pronouns. The imperative mood expresses a command. If you use a pronoun tu, noi, or voi with the imperative, you will attach the pronoun to the end of the verb.
Dimmi! - Tell me! (tu)
Ditemi! - Tell me! (voi)
Alziamoci! - Let's get up!
Non andarci! - Don't go there! (tu)
It doesn't matter if it's a reflexive pronoun , a direct object pronoun, an indirect object pronoun, ci, or ne, you can attach it to the verb. If it's an infinitive, (tu in the negative) drop the final e before you add the pronoun.

-Ecco un coltello!
Ti do il coltello
Te lo do.
Prendo il coltello.
Lo prendo.
Dammi il coltello!
Dammelo!
Prendi il coltello!
Prendilo!

- Parole da ricordare
un giardino - flower garden (or) a yard
un orto - a vegetable garden
una crociera - a cruise
una bugia - a lie
bugiardo - a liar
dire bugie - to tell lies
mentire - to lie
Stammi bene! - Take care of yourself!
Lasciami stare! - Leave me alone!
