Then you read the paragraph out loud.
Then we divided into four groups to describe holidays from "Giorni di festa". We learned about Epifania ("La Befana"), L'ultimo dell'anno, Pasqua, e Ferragosto.

- "Mentre studiavo..." You counted off 1,2,1,2... and the "unos" each composed a sentence using an imperfetto verb and a passato prossimo verb: While something was going on, something else happened.
Mentre studiavo, ho bevuto un espresso.
The "dues" each composed a sentence using an imperfetto verb and another imperfetto verb: While something was going on, something else was going on.
Mentre studiavo, mi lavavo i denti.

- "Di solito..." means "usually". If the sentence is going on in the past, "di solito..." is a cue that you may be using the imperfetto. Remember that one of the reasons to use imperfetto is to indicate something that happened repeatedly in the past.

Sediamoci! - Let's sit down.
Alziamo le braccia! - Let's raise our arms.
Abbassiamo le braccia! - Let's lower our arms.

essere + di + city: "Sono di Chicago." "Augusto è di Milano."
